I Will Survive, Inc. is an Atlanta based breast cancer organization whose mission is to provide economic support, prevention education, and health & wellness services to those who are at higher risk and affected by breast cancer. Founder and Executive Director, Anisa Palmer, is a featured move maker on our Motivational Entrepreneur List because her motivation and passion to honor her late mother, lead her down a path in which she’s able to help save lives. Her continual efforts in the community are selfless and inspiring to all.
In 1990, 5-year-old Anisa, unfortunately, loss her dear mother to stage 4 breast cancer. Her mother was only 38 years old. After serving in the military, during her second tour in Iraq, Anisa saw a mirage of her dear mother, whom called upon her to serve and help, by way of direct support, breast cancer victims, patients, and survivors. Not only did Anisa want to honor her mother, she also realized the importance of this mission in the community, and so the critical work began.
I Will Survive, Inc. was established in 2010 out of Atlanta. Anisa Palmer started this breast cancer organization with the full intent to not only help spread the awareness of breast cancer through education, but also be a support system for families impacted by this disease for those in need. I Will Survive, Inc.’s biggest program is economic support, in which the breast cancer organization raises money through donations, corporate sponsorships and grants, to help pay rent, utilities, travel cost to and from health facilities for both men and women currently battling the disease. I Will Survive, Inc. places strong emphases on providing excellent customer service to their clients.
Anisa motivation is living a life of purpose. She loves working out, not just to look and feel good, but for self-care as well. Anisa believes that having a positive outlet is important for all entrepreneurs. She is a life coach, author, public speaker, Brand Ambassador, Forbes contributor, and much more.
CHALLENGES
One of the biggest challenges Anisa faced regarding the establishment of a breast cancer organization in Atlanta was dealing with the politics of a public charity and leading a health organization in a state and country that does not believe quality health care is a right to all.
FUTURE GOALS
Anisa will be launching her new book PURPOSE: THE ULTIMATE CLIMAX this week on AnisaPalmer.com. I Will Survive, Inc. will be going global this upcoming year. This breast cancer organization wants to help more people in need nationally and globally. In the words of Anisa, “Cancer does not discriminate and neither do we.”
