All Heroes Don’t Wear Capes…

The spread of the coronavirus has plagued families to their homes worldwide. Businesses, both large and small, have closed their doors as a precautionary step to keep all safe during this pandemic. Thousands of people have loss their jobs and many children are out of school. This means that many families are struggling not only with bills, but to make sure their children are being fed, who would normally receive meals from school.
Chris Wynn, founder of Solo Sliders, a catering service in Detroit, has teamed up with Developing Despite Distance, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring children whose parents are incarcerated, to feed families during the covıd-19 pandemic. As stated, the quarantine has removed at risk students from school, which takes away 2 meals they depend on. For the past 3 weeks, Solo Sliders and Developing Despite Distance have welcomed donations to assist in their efforts in feeding the families of the less fortunate. Along with gourmet sandwiches, chips and dessert, lunch boxes have been provided for each child in the household.
